HFC 6th Annual Poker Tournament Fundraising Event

Hedge Funds Care, also known as Help For Children (HFC), is an international charity, supported largely by the hedge fund industry, whose sole mission is preventing and treating child abuse.

HFC has 2 goals:

•To raise as much money as possible to fund the programs that do the preventing and treating.

•To showcase the philanthropy of the hedge fund and finance industries.

This mission is accomplished by raising money and granting it to child welfare organizations throughout the United States, Canada, the Cayman Islands, and the United Kingdom.

Money raised is distributed locally to community-based nonprofit organizations that address child abuse in the following ways:

•    EDUCATION (PRIMARY PREVENTION) to enhance awareness and understanding of abuse and neglect for children, parents, and professionals in the community

•    PREVENTION services to at-risk children and families

•    INTERVENTIONS for children who have been physically or sexually abused and support services to non-offending family members

•    RESEARCH on best practices in child welfare

•    ADVOCACY to improve child welfare

•    TRAINING to equip paraprofessionals and professionals to provide child abuse prevention and treatment services

HFC has its’ 6th Annual Poker-Tournament-Fundraising-Event coming up in San Francisco, California on January 21, 2016 and we want you to register!

These women range from investors to female professionals within a wide range of financial services. 100 Women in Hedge Funds is known for its involvement in charity and various dedicated volunteer efforts led by its top members.

Through education, professional leverage initiatives, and philanthropy, 100 Women in Hedge Funds has made profound efforts for communities across the globe. According to their website, 100 Women in Hedge Funds are “educators, mentors, innovators, leaders, supporters, inspirers, influencers, motivators, partners, pioneers, and volunteers,” (100womeninhedgefunds.org). One of the organization’s most famous member is Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, who has attended numerous gala events for the organization’s philanthropy efforts.

Over the years, 100 Women in Hedge Funds has enabled its members to make important differences in their communities through a series of philanthropic initiatives. Some of the organizations most notable successes (according to their website) have been:

  • Raising over $36 million for charities focused on women’s and family health, education, and mentoring
  • Fundraising initiatives including annual Galas and other supporting fundraising events throughout the year
  • Greatly impacting the lives of approximately 371,000 people through fundraising

HFC’s Annual New York Committee of Hope Fall Fete

This year’s annual New York Committee of Hope Fall Fete, sponsored by Hedge Funds Care, will take place on September 30th at the World Trade Center, One World Observatory on the 102nd Floor.

In past years there have been over 400 industry professionals that helped to raise more than $200,000 – all proceeds donated to the HFC’s mission to prevent and treat child abuse. Each year, the New York Committee of Hope strives to surpass prior year’s fundraising totals and hope that professionals in the hedge fund world will be eager to attend the event.

The pricing of the event is divided up into tiers of “hearts” depending on how great of a donation one gives. A “Warm Heart” donation resides at $275 per ticket, a “Big Heart Sponsor” sits at $5,000 each for 5 attendees, an “Open Heart Sponsor” allocates to 8 attendees for $10,000 each, a “Generous Heart Sponsor” is given to 12 attendees for $15,000 each, and finally, a “Sweet Heart Sponsor” resides at $25,000 each for 15 attendees.
